‍At The Learning Zone Nursery, we believe that a child’s earliest experiences shape their future. Our mission is to provide a continuous, nurturing journey from birth to 5, built on a foundation of care, curiosity and high expectations.

For over 20 years, we have worked in partnership with families to give children the strongest possible start in life. Every child is unique and we aim to develop each child as an individual, nurturing their strengths and talents.

At The Learning Zone, we tailor learning to individual strengths, interests and needs, ensuring that each child feels known, valued and inspired. The high standards of education we provide are designed not only to build knowledge and skills, but also to foster confidence, independence and a life long love of learning.

We encourage every child to participate fully. From academic learning and creative arts to outdoor play and community events, children are given rich opportunities to explore, discover and grow. Participating in and learning through experience are central to character development, as they prepare children for the challenges and opportunities ahead.

We also aim to provide clear boundaries and consistent guidance. Through kindness, encouragement and thoughtful teaching, children develop self-discipline, respect for others and the ability to make positive choices.

We believe that well-being and character are as important as academic progress, which is reflected in our settling process and staggered session times. We have a structured, teacher-led curriculum focused on school readiness.

Parents and carers play a very important part of nursery life, and we value strong partnership with them. We encourage our parents/carers to become involved in all aspects of nursery life, so that as partners, we can promote high standards of learning, behaviours and attitudes to enable every child to reach their full potential.

Operation Encompass
It is a charitable organisation that The Learning Zone have signed up to, it was created in 2010, which has since enabled effective interventions to many thousands of children who've experienced domestic abuse.  Operation Encompass is the notification to Nurseries/schools, prior to the start of the next school day, of incidents where a child or young person has experienced or been exposed to any domestic abuse. Operation Encompass will ensure that a member of the Nursery staff, (DSL) known as a Key Adult, is trained to allow them to liaise with the police and to use the information that has been shared in confidence. They will also ensure that the nursery is able to make provision for possible difficulties experienced by children, or their families, who have experienced a domestic abuse incident. ‍All staff have completed the online training. The training updates staff members' knowledge of domestic abuse, children as victims of domestic abuse, how Operation Encompass works in principle and how staffcan support children experiencing domestic abuse.
